Sandbox's gameplay is a unique combination of tower defense and resource gathering. You are a toy soldier inside a sandbox tasked with defending your base from insects. Dig for plastic, upgrade your base and abilities and try to survive as long you can!
This game was made on our own OpenGL-based engine, as part of a university assignment. It was also entered in a game making competition.

A pretty novel concept, but the movement quirks and low performance detract heavily from the enjoyment.
Otherwise, I can see the game becoming a bit repetitive without more enemy types or events that introduce variety.
